QUMAX BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES
This program is funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing as part of the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement. Funding of up to $10.9 million has been approved for implementation of the Quality Use of Medicines Maximised for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander People (QUMAX) Program over the life of the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement between the Australian Government and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (the Guild). NACCHO has worked with the Guild and the Department of Health and Ageing to develop this Program so that it is aligned with the interests of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs). ACCHS must register for the Program then QUM work plans will be developed by the participating ACCHS with assistance from a State-based QUM Support Pharmacist (to be engaged by the relevant State or Territory Branch of the Guild) and advice from the relevant NACCHO State Affiliate and the NACCHO Program Manager.
